The video above is the official trailer for the Ukrainian feature film Malevich. Leonid Pavlenko worked on the project as an artistic consultant. He shared his experience as a painter, suggested visual references for key scenes and helped the team keep the look of the film close to early twentieth-century painting.
The exhibition presented a new series of still life paintings with flowers, fruit and ceramics in simple interiors. The focus was on light, colour and texture, and on how everyday objects can become quiet visual stories. Several works from this series are now shown in the online gallery of this website.
Landscape paintings were shown in a group exhibition with Ukrainian artists. The works depicted small towns, hills and gardens and reflected on how painting can keep familiar places in memory. The project highlighted the role of art in preserving everyday views of the country.
